Our education and research efforts are supported by a strong neighboring industry presence such as L3Harris Corporation, Lockheed Martin, Duke Energy, Siemens, Walt Disney World, and NASA, to name a few.The Opportunity:The Post Doctoral Scholar will design and discover synthesize high-entropy materials for energy and electronic applications; Explore useful structures-property-synthesis relationships in high-entropy materials; Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present research findings at professional meetings; Co-advise graduate and undergraduate researchers as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Computational Materials Physics or a related field. Preferred Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience in high-throughput first-principles calculations and first-principles studies of thermodynamics.
    • Basic knowledge of first-principles theory of point defects in solids.
    • Experience in data mining.
    • Demonstrated expertise in density functional theory calculations.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
